Here is our very own Serena Collar (Talent Attraction Manager) telling us all about her journey at Côte and what's made it such a special time in her career.

My alarm goes off…

At 6.45am, if I’m working from home I am straight up and out to the gym before starting my working day 💪. If I’m out and about, shower, prep and out, I’m not one to mess around and I’m not much of a breakfast person so I just skip that.

I found the job at Côte…

I joined Côte in 2019 and loved it from the start. Within the Recruitment team I have looked after almost all the area’s now, and recruited across almost every level.

What’s kept you in Côte….

Easy one. The People! 😊, I love the people I work with and the supportive environment that Côte has created. There has been a lot of changes in my 3 years at Côte but I am really enjoying seeing where things go and meeting all the new people that join us is such a bonus.

My dream job when I was a child….

Was to be a performer. I love to sing and trained in Musical Theatre and was a lucky enough to land performing contracts in the UK and abroad before falling into hospitality and loving it.

My typical day…

I start by answering my emails and making a coffee (Decaf), then get onto Harri and call any new applicants. After this it’s resourcing, booking interviews/tasters, supporting the restaurants, and generally keeping up to date on my area’s recruitment needs.

After my working day, I generally chill at home with my husband, but you could find me out for dinner, at the cinema, or even in the bingo hall (I never win though).

Why hospitality?...

I fell into hospitality when I wanted something more stable than contract work. I found myself a waitress job and within a year became an Assistant Manager. I became interested in the recruitment for my restaurant and found it was something I was quite good at and from there went into recruitment. - I love hospitality and couldn’t imagine doing recruitment for any other industry.

Favourite memory in Côte so far…

Would probably be the trip to Paris that I went on in 2020 just before the pandemic happened. It was great spending time with the Area Managers, General Manager’s and Head Chef’s outside of the restaurant and being able to get to know them all better.
